an extremely sexist travesty.

read these:

seriously, read/skim them.

you'd be way, way surpised at how many women deceitfully pull the abuse and child molestation card against dads in custody battles. it's a mud-slinging contest for the sick entertainment of the system. and it's part of the corporate/population-increase/matriarchal conspiracy.

in contested custody cases, 80% of the time, women get primary custody, 5% men, and 15% is split, w/ a real 50-50 split happening less than 2% of the time, and the other split structures heavily favoring time w/ mom.

add that to the divorce rate (50-90%, depending on age and whether you got kids or not; w/kids is higher, younger is higher), and add in unmarried kid-makers and the skyrocketing separation stats for them, and that's why single mother households are the most common household structure in the usa.

result: "mom gets the kids, dad pays"
response from society: zilch, a non-issue, until it happens to you - and it likely will (again, check the stats, brother)

I think its more a problem of momentum than anything else. Womens rights groups have long pushed for favorable conditions in custody cases, whereas men's rights groups are absolutely non-existant. With high pressure women's groups constantly trying to peddle influence, and men standing on the sidelines, of course the system is going to end up shaping itself in a way that is entirely lopsided. There has to be an equal force to meet an opposing force, or there will always be motion in the direction which represents the path of least resistance.

Bottomline: Men need to be just as active as women in pushing for changes in the system.
